Each session danced the night away at the Camp Rainbow Dance. Campers and staff enjoyed daily activities like crafts, lake fun, fishing, and recreation. Due to the large number of medications given at Camp Rainbow, We do have very specific requirements for medication packaging. Please throughly read the instructions, as some of the information is new this year.
We require that medications (pills/tablets/capsules) be packaged in approximately 2” x 4” envelopes. These envelopes need to be marked with the camper’s name, date, time to be given, and medication names. Do not put individual pills in plastic baggies inside of the envelopes. All pills should be together in one envelope so we can easily dispense them. Each envelope must have the camper's name on it along with all medication names.
Campers are involved in various activities throughout the day so medications are given at mealtimes and bedtime. Those times are 8:00am, 12:00 pm, 6:00 pm, and 9 pm.
At check-in, the nurses will be comparing the camper's medication profile with the medication names on the envelopes. Check-in will go much quicker if medications are marked and packaged according to the above directions. If there has been a medication change since the individual was enrolled in camp, please email those changes and we can update their medical profile to reflect that change.
If the medications are not packaged when the camper arrives, we will have the envelopes available for the caregiver to package them for the camper with the date and time they are to be given. We will not accept any type of bubble pack or packaging not in envelopes as described above. We will not have any Camp Rainbow staff assisting with the repackaging of medications this year. While we will have supplies to repackage, if necessary, that will be fully up the the caregiver to repackage in the described manner.
The needs of the camper have been provided for, so, it will not be necessary for any individual to bring money to camp. No iPods, tablets, valuable jewelry, or other valuables, please.
