COVID-19 UPDATE: Currently we are planning for camp to take place June 18- 27, 2021. Missouri State Parks are requiring we run at a 50% capacity. As a result, we will have very limited spots available. This means we will have a first come first service basis for camper applications. Unfortunately, we will only be able to accept volunteers with one year or more of experience.
All applications have been mailed and are available online below.
Camp rainbow 2021 will take place June 18- June 27, 2021. Things will likely look different as a result of Covid-19. We will be running at a 50% capacity in line with the policy of Crowder State Park. We will release our full Covid Plan in May
Camper applications are available to print above in the 'Camper Information' section.
Camper drop off begins at 9am. 1st Session camper drop off is on June 19th. Camper drop off for 2nd Session is on June 22nd. Camper drop off for 3rd Session is June 25th. Your acceptance letter will state which day you are to come.
The gate leading into camp will be locked until drop off time at 9 am. If you arrive before 9 am, you are welcome to park in the parking lot near the gate and wait for the gate to be unlocked.
Pick up is June 21st, 24th and 27th at 10 am.
Due to the large number of medications given at Camp Rainbow, We do have very specific requirements for medication packaging. We require that medications (pills/tablets/capsules) be packaged in approximately 2” x 4” envelopes with the camper’s name, date, and time to be given. We are asking that the camper’s pharmacy package the medications, but the caregiver can package them also.
Campers are involved in various activities throughout the day so medications are given at mealtimes and bedtime. Those times are 8:00am, 12:00 pm, 5:00 pm, and 8:30 pm.
If the medications are not packaged when the camper arrives, we will have the packets available for the caregiver to package them for the camper with the date and time they are to be given. We will not accept any type of bubble pack or packaging not in envelopes as described above.
Please send only the medications the camper will need while at camp. We have ibuprofen, Aspirin and other over the counter medications available. We will give those to the camper when needed.
We appreciate your cooperation in this matter. If you have questions about how to package the mediations, please call Betty Snyder at 660-646-1026 after 5:00 pm, Mon-Fri.
The needs of the camper have been provided for, so, it will not be necessary for any individual to bring money to camp. No iPods, tablets, valuable jewelry, or other valuables, please.
